DIY: Gathered Tee Dress

Looking for the ultimate, flowy summer essential? I think I might have the answer for you.

This tutorial takes you through the steps of how to create your own dress that features gathered tiers, large sleeves, high neck with tie back and an overall cute go-to! Super simple to make and an easy throw on when you can't be bothered overthinking things.

 
 
 
 

The Essentials:

  • Material (nothing too stiff)

  • Matching thread & bobbin

  • Fabric Chalk

  • Scissors

  • General pins & safety pin

  • Measuring tape

  • Shirt to trace

  • Sewing Machine

Suggested Fabric Amount Required:
Size Extra Small = 1.5m (off the roll)
Size Small = 2m (off the roll)
Size Medium = 2.5m (off the roll)
Size Large = 3m (off the roll)
Size Extra Large = 3.5m (off the roll)
(add or take 0.5 metres for anything larger or smaller than these sizes)

Add your own touch

Experiment with the details to make it suit your style! This could be adding more tiers to make it longer, adding elastic to the bottom of the sleeves for a puffy effect or even extending them for a full length!
